Opening Day – Welcome to Good Eats in Town

Sandwiches Well, Folks, here it is….my new blog on one of the things I enjoy the most… Eating. I have been blogging for a while now, over here, and every so often I post something about one of my favorite restaurants or about a new place Tracy & I have tried. I even started a series in my blog about a year ago called “Good Eats in Town”. Recently, the idea hit me….why don’t I set up a separate blog about all the places to eat in the area. I could make it a mission to eat at least once in every food serving establishment in the region and then write about my experience.

This will actually do a number of things for me. One – It’ll give me another reason to go out to breakfast, lunch or dinner; Two – it’ll provide an outlet for that inner need that I have to do something in the way of writing and journalism; and three -  it may even help others choose their next trip out, perhaps act as a dining guide of sorts, a site to visit when looking for place to eat. I can’t tell you how many times that we have decided to eat out instead of going home to cook, and then spent a good hour trying to decide what we want and where to get it. I think this will help us find more places to try, and hopefully help any of you who venture forth into our neck of the woods.

The MenuTo get this blog going, I have given myself an assignment. First, come up with a list of all the places that serve or sell food in the Monadnock region. Then…. Go eat!  There are a few places we love that I have already blogged about elsewhere, but I think they deserve a place here, as well, and so I may be forced to try them again…. and again… and again.

I’ll comment on the food, the atmosphere, the setting, the service…whatever stood out and impressed me. I’m not going to limit it to fine dining at expensive restaurants…any place is fair game… 5 star restaurants to the corner deli to the coffee truck.

I’m also happy to take suggestions and provide any insights to questions about places in the area, so don’t hesitate to write.

In future weeks, I’ll be working on the format and layout of the blog, and I’ll be making my list. I’m looking forward to sharing our experiences and hearing your thoughts. Buen Provecho!

  1. Basically like a food critic? My sister does the exact same thing for an urban magazine.

    This will be interesting.

  2. Yeah, kinda! But I think I'll focus on the positive stuff of places that I enjoyed visiting. I don't plan on knocking anyone down or complaining about stuff. I just want to share the good stuff. I have one coming very soon.

    Stay tuned. :)
